Pune, 31st July 2025 – Malaka Spice, in collaboration with Locavore and OOO Farms, is thrilled to announce a limited-edition pop-up menu that pays homage to the extraordinary biodiversity of the Western Ghats. This culinary event which begins on 1st August will feature a thoughtfully curated, limited-edition menu that celebrates the bounty of seasonal produce foraged from the forests and hills of this unique ecological hotspot.
Guests will have the rare opportunity to experience a menu that is as much a story as it is a feast—each dish inspired by the vibrant flora, unique ingredients, and traditional foraging practices of the Western Ghats. In collaboration with Locavore, an organization championing impact driven food movement in India, the team at Malaka Spice has personally foraged ingredients to craft a dining experience that is rooted in sustainability, locality, and flavour.
The menu is a culinary storytelling that highlights indigenous ingredients and forgotten food traditions. Some of dishes featured in the menu are Bamboo shoots with Wild Greens, Yellow curry with prawns, loth & ambadi, Crispy Kartoli Salad, and Malay Curry Puff with Pendhra & Shrimp.
“This collaboration is a tribute to the rich ecological and culinary heritage of the Western Ghats,” said Ilvika Chandawarkar (Head, Research & Development at Malaka Spice). “Every dish tells a story—of the land, the people, and the unique ingredients that make this region so special.”
This pop-up menu will be served only as long as the seasonal produce is available, making it a fleeting but unforgettable experience for food lovers and sustainability enthusiasts alike. It provides rare opportunity to taste hyper-local produce that is not commonly available in mainstream markets.
