HCL GUVI Powers AI Training for Uttar Pradesh’s Rural Development Department in Alignment with State’s AI Pragya Vision

Lucknow, July 17, 2025: Reinforcing its commitment to digitally empowering governance at the grassroots, the Rural Development Department of the Government of Uttar Pradesh, in partnership with HCL GUVI, conducted an intensive, hands-on AI training program for over 100 field and executive-level officials. This initiative directly advances the goals of AI Pragya, the state’s visionary program to embed artificial intelligence into public administration and service delivery.

Titled “Applied AI for Rural Development: Data, Image, Language & Geospatial Intelligence,” the program introduced officials to practical applications of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Computer Vision, Natural Language Processing (NLP), Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and Predictive Analytics—all contextualized to rural development use cases.

Through HCL GUVI’s proprietary AI-powered learning platform, participants engaged in pre- and post-training assessments, real-world government datasets, and scenario-based exercises. Use cases included fraud detection, photo verification, automated grievance redressal, geo-tag mapping, and AI-assisted reporting. A dedicated module on Responsible AI and Ethics in Governance helped ensure thoughtful and accountable application of these tools.

“This training marks a significant step in our journey to build a digitally adept, future-ready government workforce. It reflects our broader commitment to transparent, efficient governance and resonates with the ambitions of the AI Pragya vision,” said Shri G.S. Priyadarshi (IAS), Commissioner, Rural Development, Government of Uttar Pradesh.

“We have moved beyond raising awareness—this program delivered real, hands-on tools that rural officers can apply from day one. We are proud to be part of Uttar Pradesh’s progressive digital journey,” said Arun Prakash M, Founder & CEO, GUVI.

Apoorv Johari, Head of Corporate Programs at HCL GUVI, added, “The goal was immediate applicability. Participants walked away with practical skills—from analyzing field images to automating workflows—that will streamline operations and improve outcomes.”

The program was delivered as an 8-hour, mentor-led immersive session, culminating in a certificate of completion for each participant.

Through such initiatives, HCL GUVI continues to lead in driving tech-enabled capacity building for government and corporate stakeholders. Organizations seeking similar partnerships to future-proof their workforce with emerging technology skills can reach out at ankur.j@guvi.in.
