Mumbai, October 17th, 2025: As businesses face structural hurdles, digital disruption, and shifting customer expectations, the role of the Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) has emerged as a critical driver of sustainable profitability. A CRO unites sales, marketing, finance, and strategy to unlock new growth and ensure long-term business resilience. According to IBM, 53% of Indian leaders are under pressure to deliver revenue growth, yet only 26% feel adequately equipped with the tools and talent. Meanwhile, an HBR study showed that 62% of companies see a revenue decline following a CRO change, underscoring the pivotal nature of this role.
In response to this growing demand, the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (IIMC), ranked among India’s top three business schools and distinguished with the prestigious Triple Crown accreditation (AMBA, EQUIS, AACSB), has launched India’s first Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) Programme, in collaboration with Emeritus. This pioneering 10-month programme is designed to prepare ambitious leaders with strategic, operational, and technological expertise to steer profitable growth in today’s unpredictable era.
Through immersive live online sessions, real-world case studies, business simulations, and a high-impact four-day campus immersion at IIM Calcutta, participants will develop cross-functional fluency, innovation mindsets, and tech-enabled decision-making skills. The programme also includes a hands-on capstone project guided by IIM Calcutta faculty, enabling participants to apply their learning to real-world business challenges.
Speaking at the launch, an IIM Calcutta programme director said: "Revenue leadership today is not just about meeting quarterly targets – it’s about anticipating shifts, integrating technology, and aligning diverse functions towards a common growth agenda. This programme is designed to help leaders step into that future-ready CRO role with confidence and clarity."
