Bengaluru, 20 August 2025: AiR Humanitarian Homes, founded by Spiritual Mentor, Happpiness Ambassador, Author and Philanthropist, AiR – Atman in Ravi, has taken a transformative step in its mission to serve humanity by enabling six residents of its shelters in Bengaluru to receive custom-fitted prosthetic limbs. The life-changing initiative, undertaken in collaboration with the Rotary Club, embodies AiR’s core belief that Service to Humanity is Prayer. It also marks a milestone in the Homes’ vision of fostering dignity and independence in every individual and being a significant part of their journey towards rehabilitation and self-reliance.
Since it first opened its doors in 1998, AiR Humanitarian Homes have been a safe haven for more than 600 people every day. The homes provide essential services like food, shelter, medical care and emotional support at their two locations in Bannerghatta and Chikkagubbi Village, Bengaluru. Blessed by Nobel Peace Laureate and revered global spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama, AiR Humanitarian Homes welcome people of all ages, genders, castes, and religions, treating each as a manifestation of the Divine.
“This initiative is more than just providing physical mobility; it’s about restoring hope and self-respect,” said AiR – Atman in Ravi. “Our residents are not just beneficiaries; they are family. By helping these residents regain their ability to walk, we facilitate change in their emotional state. This journey empowers them to embrace life with purpose and dignity and participate more fully in their daily activities and community life. And through them, we serve God. Service to humanity is an expression of love and devotion to God. It is a prayer.”
AiR Humanitarian Homes has a legacy of impacting over 50,000 lives through medical care, surgeries, prosthetics, rehabilitation, and emotional support over the past two decades. The organization takes a comprehensive approach to care, offering regular medical camps, on-site nurses, visiting specialists, and tailored support that includes counselling, physiotherapy, and fun recreational activities. The aim is to foster both physical and emotional healing.
The artificial limb initiative is a testament to AiR Humanitarian Homes’ commitment to treating every individual with love and reverence. “This mission of service is not simply charity – it is worship.” AiR affirms. “When we uplift another life, it is a scared offering to God, the Supreme Immortal Power that lives in all of us.”
The effort aligns with AiR Humanitarian Homes’ broader mission, including the recently launched “God Is There” mobile outreach service, which extends care to Bengaluru’s most vulnerable populations. Looking to the future, AiR Humanitarian Homes is aiming to expand into a 1000-bed facility, allowing even more people to experience this kind of compassionate care. The organization invites communities and individuals to join in its mission for a world where everyone is treated with reverence, love and dignity.
