Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals Marks World Physiotherapy Day 2026 with Move More, Live Healthier Initiative

New Delhi, Sept 08: To mark World Physiotherapy Day 2026, the Department of Physiotherapy & Rehabilitation at Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals, New Delhi, organized an awareness initiative themed "Move More, Live Healthier!", aligned with this year's global theme, "Movement is Health."

The session brought together patients, hospital staff, and members of the local community to highlight the critical role of movement in preventing and managing non-communicable diseases, particularly stroke and cardiovascular conditions. Through live demonstrations, physiotherapists showcased simple, easy-to-adopt exercises and stretches that can be incorporated into everyday routines to support long-term health and mobility.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Seema Grover, Senior Consultant and Head, Department of Physiotherapy & Rehabilitation Medicine, Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals said, “Movement is one of the most powerful medicines available to us. Physiotherapy is not just about helping people recover from illness or injury, it is about helping them stay healthy, active, and independent for longer. Even small amounts of daily movement can have a lasting impact on overall health and well-being.”

The initiative reflects Apollo Hospitals' continued focus on preventive healthcare and physiotherapy as a therapeutic intervention that helps protect, restore, and promote lifelong movement. Through such awareness efforts, Apollo Hospitals aims to empower communities to take small but meaningful steps toward healthier living.
