Thiruvananthapuram, May 13: Kerala Fibre Optic Network (KFON) is set to provide internet connectivity to 457 Urban Health Centres across the state as part of the National Health Mission’s eHealth Kerala project. The initiative aims to integrate eHealth services by connecting health centres using Multi-Protocol Label Switching (MPLS) technology.
As part of the project, a central hub will be established at the National Urban Health Mission Head Office in Thiruvananthapuram. This will enable more efficient data exchange between urban health centres and help ensure faster and improved healthcare services for patients.
“KFON is playing a crucial role in the digital integration of Kerala’s healthcare sector,” said Dr. Santosh Babu IAS (Retd.), Managing Director of KFON. “Integrating Urban Health Centres through the eHealth Kerala project will make healthcare services more transparent and efficient. Strengthening digital infrastructure to deliver quality healthcare services to the public remains KFON’s key objective,” he added.
