Mumbai, July 2nd, 2025 – Lilavati Hospital and Research Centre celebrated National Doctors’ Day with a deeply moving and spirited event at its premises today, bringing together doctors, trustees, and staff in a tribute to the selfless service of India’s medical community.
This year’s Doctors’ Day theme, “Behind the Mask: Who Heals the Healers” resonated strongly throughout the ceremony, a reflection of Lilavati’s own enduring commitment to compassionate, patient-first care. The event honored not only the doctors’ skill and dedication but also their resilience, empathy, and personal sacrifices in the face of growing healthcare challenges.
The celebration began with a solemn homage to people who lost their lives in a plane crash, followed by a lamp-lighting ceremony and a prayer dance performed by our doctors setting the tone for the event.
A warm welcome address by the hospital’s COO Dr Niraj Uttamani and an opening speech by Permanent Trustee Mr. Rajiv Mehta led into an energetic and engaging afternoon filled with songs and dance performances by our Consultants and Junior doctor’s. There was also games, and awards that celebrated the multidimensional spirit of Lilavati’s doctors, not just as medical professionals, but as leaders, and community builders.
“To all the doctors, we express our deepest gratitude for your selfless service, your love and care. You make a difference in countless lives, and your legacy will always be cherished. We say thank you for being the pillars of strength, for being the caregivers and for being the heroes in the lives of those you touch” said Mr. Rajiv Mehta, Permanent Trustee, Lilavati Hospital and Research Centre.
Reflecting on the occasion, Mr. Rajesh Mehta, Permanent Trustee, added, “Doctors’ Day isn’t just a celebration, it’s a moment to pause and recognise the human stories behind every diagnosis and every surgery. At Lilavati, we remain dedicated to nurturing not just medical excellence but emotional intelligence in healthcare.”
