In FY 2024–25, Toyota Kirloskar Motor continued to advance its CSR strategy through high-impact interventions across its six core pillars—Education, Health & Hygiene, Environment, Skill Development, Road Safety, and Disaster Management—alongside its structured employee volunteering initiative, iCARE. These initiatives are thoughtfully designed to empower communities at the grassroots and enable long-term socio-economic transformation.
Fostering Foundational Education and Inclusive Learning
In partnership with the Karnataka State Government, the company supported the modernization of school infrastructure across aspirational districts, enabling 4,222 students to access digital, STEM-aligned learning environments in government schools. Furthering the goals of the National Education Policy, the Toyota Anganwadi Development Program reached 10,338 young learners by strengthening early childhood education and foundational literacy.
Recognizing the importance of well-equipped school facilities, TKM provided furniture and learning essentials to government schools in Raichur and Vijayapura districts to enhance educational access for 68,553 children. These interventions, rooted in inclusion, ensured that infrastructure does not become a barrier to learning.
Advancing Public Health and Hygiene in Rural India
In the healthcare domain, TKM focused on bolstering the capacity of public health institutions. By equipping primary healthcare centres in Ramanagara and Raichur districts with critical life-saving diagnostic and medical equipment, the company enabled access to improved healthcare for over 5,68,000 people. Additionally, TKM’s “A Behavioural Change Demonstration (ABCD)” initiative promoted hygiene education across government schools, reaching over 10,000 students and earning recognition through the CSR Times Award 2024 under the Swachh Bharat category. The Toyota Pure Water Drinking Project in Mysore further supported health outcomes by addressing clean water access.
Restoring Ecosystems Through Community-Led Environmental Action
TKM’s environmental sustainability efforts aligned with national water conservation and ecological goals. In Karnataka’s Aurad Taluk of Bidar district, the ‘Jeevana Dhare’, a holistic watershed project promoting sustainable agriculture, restored local water systems, improved income, and holistic community development, positively impacted 11,026 community members. Complementing this, afforestation drives in Ramanagara and Channapatna, and environmental education via the EcoZone learning hub in Bidadi, inspired 11,825 school children across 149 schools in FY 2024–25.
Building Employability Through Technical and Vocational Education
As part of its long-term commitment to skilling India’s youth, TKM scaled multiple programs aimed at bridging the academia-industry gap. Over 3,203 students were trained in advanced automotive technologies through Centers of Excellence, the Toyota Technical Training Institute (TTTI), and India’s first Mobility Engineering Lab set up in partnership with the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore.
Extending its efforts beyond Karnataka, TKM launched the Toyota Technical Education Program (T-TEP) in Bareilly (Uttar Pradesh) and Aizawl (Mizoram) to offer employability-focused training to youth in newer geographies. These initiatives reinforce Toyota’s alignment with the Skill India Mission by nurturing industry-relevant competencies.
Promoting Road Safety Awareness Through Education and Innovation
The Toyota Safety Education Program (TSEP), in alignment with the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, educated 79,322 students across Bangalore, Delhi, and Mumbai on traffic rules, safe practices, and responsible road usage. Meanwhile, the Toyota Hackathon engaged 13,300 youth to crowdsource innovative road safety solutions and encourage students to be the solution providers for the emerging road safety challenges.
TKM also collaborated with local authorities in Mizoram to conduct road safety awareness programs and driver health check-ups to emphasize its people-first approach to mobility.
Empowering Communities Through Disaster Relief
Demonstrating agility and compassion in times of crisis, TKM supported disaster relief operations in Mizoram’s Aizawl district during monsoon-triggered landslides. The company deployed heavy-duty machinery to restore access to affected areas, directly benefiting 4,65,000 people and aligning with national disaster resilience goals.
iCARE: Employee Volunteering for Social Impact
Through its employee volunteering platform iCARE, TKM fosters a culture of community engagement among its workforces. In FY 2024–25, 732 volunteers—including employees and their families—participated in four volunteering events focused on tree plantation, school beautification, and community outreach, impacting over 4,200 individuals. Since inception, iCARE has mobilized over 3,230 volunteers, touching the lives of 68,653 community members across India.
A Vision for Sustainable and Inclusive Development
Toyota Kirloskar Motor’s CSR interventions reflect a consistent focus on sustainable, inclusive growth and community empowerment. By continuing to collaborate with government bodies, academic institutions, and non-profits, TKM aims to deepen its contributions to national goals while advancing Toyota’s global philosophy of “Creating Mobility for All.”
With a future-forward approach, TKM remains committed to—strengthening communities, nurturing talent, and fostering a cleaner, safer, and more equitable India.
