CBM India Trust Hosts Awareness Session on World Autism Awareness Day

Bengaluru, April 04, 2024 – CBM India Trust, a leading organization dedicated to disability-inclusive development, hosted an awareness session for over 150 Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) students on the occasion of World Autism Awareness Day. The event took place today, April 02, 2024, at RV Teachers College, Jayanagar 2nd Block, Bengaluru.

Building a foundation for inclusive classrooms, this event will equip future educators to create a positive and enriching learning experience for students on the spectrum. This session is organized by students of CBM India Trust’s training program on Community-Based Inclusive Development, a course co-designed by the Rehabilitation Council of India and the University of Melbourne, Australia, and run by CBM India Trust. The agenda for the awareness session includes discussions on various types of disabilities as outlined in the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016, with a specific focus on understanding and supporting autistic people. A Q&A session will also be conducted to address any queries from the participants.
