The British brutally suppressed the rebellion, sentencing Chand and Bhairav to death and hanging Sidho and Kanho from a tree on July 26, 1855. It is said that 20,000 Janjaati were killed. To pay homage to these brave martyrs, Hul Diwas is celebrated every year on June 30.
