JK Lakshmipat University commemorated the 90th Birth Anniversary of their Founder and late visionary industrialist and philanthropist, Shri Hari Shankar Singhania on 20th June 2023 and paid tribute by organizing a Blood Donation Camp at the Healthcare Center on the university campus.
The aim of this camp was to unite in the spirit of selflessness and extend support to those in need of life-saving blood transfusions. 59 units of blood were collected from 86 eager participants, cutting across faculty, staff, students, their families, and the neighborhood.
“Through the simple act of donating blood, we wanted to honor the legacy of compassion, kindness, and humanity of the late Shri Hari Shankar Singhania. The aim of this activity was to provide an opportunity to educate students about the importance and benefits of blood donation and promote a culture of voluntary blood donation from an early age. Such activities help students to foster a sense of social responsibility and empathy towards others and allow them to contribute to society in a meaningful way and instill values of giving and helping others”, said Dr. Dheeraj Sanghi, Vice Chancellor, JK Lakshmipat University.
“Our sincere thanks and gratitude to all team members, volunteers, medical team and specially all donors, who contributed today in a big way for the noble cause of Blood donation on the occasion of the 90th Birth anniversary of our reverent Founder. The affection and zeal to contribute on this event has resulted in the participation of more than 86 people”, said Mr. S. R. Pandey, Chief of HR and Administration, JKLU.
The Blood Donation Camp at JKLU was open to all the students, faculty, teaching and non-teaching staff, security and transport personnel, and the local community. The event adhered to all necessary health and safety protocols to ensure the well-being of donors and organizers. The organizers acknowledged every blood donor by gifting them an umbrella, which was a thoughtful gesture, considering the onset of the rainy season.
