Hyderabad, 3rd May, 2023: Kamineni Hospitals, an affordable healthcare provider in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, has announced a FREE Asthma awareness camp “Asthma Care for All” on the occasion of World Asthma Day, which is observed every year on the first Tuesday of May (2nd May, 2023). The goal of this global event is to educate people about asthma, its symptoms, and the importance of early detection and management.

On the occasion, Dr. Gayatri Kamineni, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Kamineni Hospitals, said, “Asthma is a disease that affects 33 million people in India and more than 300 million people worldwide. Asthma is a lifelong disorder. Many people who are otherwise in perfect health can be affected by this disease, which limits their ability to work normally at their jobs. By understanding what asthma is, when it starts, what causes it, and why it can be life-threatening, it is possible to choose modern treatment and control asthma by following the precautions prescribed by doctors and quickly get out of the restrictions it imposes. As part of the hospital’s efforts to support people suffering with Asthma, this World Asthma Day, Kamineni Hospitals, LB Nagar, is offering a Free Asthma screening camp from May 2nd to May 6th, to raise awareness about asthma and encourage people to take control of their respiratory health.”

Highlighting the significance of the occasion, Shri. Tanikella Bharani, Actor, Writer & Director, stated, “I must wholeheartedly congratulate Kamineni Hospitals for conducting this program. World Asthma Day aims to raise awareness about the importance of early diagnosis and proper management of asthma, as well as the need to address the social, economic, and environmental determinants of asthma. The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the importance of respiratory health and has underscored the need to prioritize respiratory health care and research.”

Dr. Ravindra Reddy, Senior Pulmonologist at Kamineni Hospitals, said, “Asthma is a complex disease influenced by a combination of genetic and environmental factors. Although genetics can be passed down, taking precautions can help prevent the disease from developing or being triggered in those who are genetically predisposed. Preventing asthma can be challenging, but taking measures can reduce the risk of developing or exacerbating the disease. These include washing pillows with boiling water at least once a fortnight, keeping pets off bedroom furniture, avoiding carpets and stuffed toys in the bedroom, controlling indoor humidity, avoiding smoking areas, using mild cleaning agents, managing stress, avoiding extreme temperatures during outdoor exercise, and seeking prompt medical attention when symptoms appear. Early medical attention can help identify and treat the underlying cause of asthma and improve outcomes. By following the instructions of expert doctors, regular check-ups and monitoring enable asthma sufferers to lead a normal life.”

The free screening camp at Kamineni Hospital will include a comprehensive evaluation of lung function, as well as a consultation with a pulmonologist. The hospital encourages everyone to take advantage of this opportunity to learn more about their respiratory health and take proactive steps towards managing their asthma.

Kamineni Hospitals is committed to promoting respiratory health and providing exceptional care to patients. The hospital’s state-of-the-art facilities and highly qualified medical professionals ensure that patients receive the best possible treatment and care.
