This validation from the National Health Authority strengthens our resolve to take forward our endeavours and advance the Distributed Cancer Care Network to meet the national challenge of cancer. It underscores the profound impact of digital transformation in enhancing healthcare effectiveness.”

India grapples with one of the highest annual new cancer cases in the world with one in nine people likely to develop cancer in their lifetime. With over 14 lakh new cases of cancer every year, the incidence of cancer is on the rise. GLOBOCAN has predicted that cancer cases in India will rise 57.5% by 2040 from 2020.[1] It is here that the Distributed Cancer Care Network (DCCN) developed by Karkinos Healthcare is a beacon of hope, tackling India’s overwhelming cancer challenge head-on. The model takes a multi-tiered approach to bridge the cancer care gap with the creation of a widespread network of cancer care centres ranging from multi-speciality hospitals without dedicated oncology services to apex hospitals, which provide all-encompassing cancer care and are deeply involved in cutting-edge cancer research.

Karkinos Healthcare has been at the forefront of the initiative in digitising records and linking them to the ABDM. The Distributed Cancer Care Network (DCCN) platform developed by Karkinos Healthcare is a SaaS (software as a service) for achieving business and operational excellence in cancer care. This is in line with the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) that connects the digital health solutions of hospitals across the country to simplify processes and enable a host of other facilities like Digital Consultation, consent of patients, ease of access to medical records, etc. With this scheme, old medical records cannot get lost as every record is stored digitally.

The Karkinos Digital Platform aids partner hospitals in maintaining accurate digital records, facilitating virtual tumour board consultations, and streamlining oncology cases, among other crucial features. The platform represents a significant leap towards transforming cancer management in India, ensuring patients get the timely and cost-effective care they desperately need. The Karkinos Command Centre forms an integral part of this approach to ensure smooth patient navigation and guided care. Empathetic engagement of patients to make cancer care more accessible and affordable promises a brighter future for cancer patients in India.
