Narayana Health Holds Walkathon For Awareness On Childhood CancerBengaluru, 28th February 2024 : One of Indias leading healthcare providers Narayana Health City, Bangalore organised a Walkathon on February 25 in Bengaluru to spread awareness on the critical issue of Childhood Cancer.

With approximately 400,000 children diagnosed with cancer worldwide each year, understanding the complexity of childhood cancer is paramount – it’s not one disease, but more than 12 major types and over 100 subtypes. The event was aimed to educate and engage the community in combating this life-threatening disease affecting children.

The Walkathon, flagged off by Dr. Sunil Bhat – Vice Chairman of Oncology Services and Oncology Collegium Director, Clinical Lead, Senior Consultant and Head of Pediatric Hematology, Oncology, and Bone Marrow Transplantation at Narayana Health City, Bangalore, Dr Nandini KR – Taluk Health Officer, Department of Health & Family Welfare, Bangalore South Taluk, Mr. Abhishek Ingle – Deputy Commandant -CISF, Electronic City & Mr. Parashuram – President – Neeladhri Nagar Residents Welfare Federation witnessed an overwhelming response with over 1000 participants, including adults and children, joining hands to spread awareness about the cause.

The presence of eminent personalities underscored the importance of community support in addressing healthcare challenges and promoting public health initiatives.

The event provided a platform to disseminate crucial information about Childhood Cancer, highlighting the urgent need for early detection, treatment, and support services.
