Cancer incidence is witnessing a steady rise in India, making it a major public health concern. According to GLOBOCAN 2022, the country reported over 1.46 million new cases, with a projected 12–15% increase by 2030. Cancer-related mortality remains high at over 850,000 deaths annually, largely due to late diagnosis, limited awareness, and restricted access to specialised care. Despite advancements, many patients continue to face fragmented treatment pathways and delayed interventions, thus impacting outcomes and survival rates.
In response to these challenges, ShardaCare-Healthcity’s strengthened Oncology programme bridges gaps between rising case volumes and access to coordinated, high-quality care by integrating medical, surgical, and radiation oncology within a single ecosystem. It delivers seamless, end-to-end cancer care - from diagnosis and treatment planning to advanced therapies and survivorship support, thus enhancing accessibility to specialised treatments and enabling the management of advanced and complex cancer cases. The programme offers chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted and endocrine therapy, personalised plans, daycare and regional chemotherapy; minimally invasive, robotic and laparoscopic surgeries, organ-specific resections, and reconstructive procedures; along with advanced radiotherapy including IMRT, IGRT, VMAT, stereotactic radiosurgery, brachytherapy, and precision image-guided treatments, enabling highly targeted and effective care under one roof.
Dr. Kousar Shah, Group CEO, ShardaCare-Healthcity, said,
“Cancer care in India is at a critical inflection point, where rising incidence is placing unprecedented pressure on healthcare systems. At ShardaCare-Healthcity, our focus is on building an integrated oncology ecosystem that not only delivers advanced treatment but also ensures continuity, accessibility, and patient-centric care. The expansion of our oncology team reflects our commitment to bridging existing gaps and enabling patients to access comprehensive, high-quality cancer care closer to home.”
The strengthening of ShardaCare-Healthcity’s Oncology programme marks a significant step in addressing India’s evolving cancer landscape. By combining clinical expertise, advanced technologies, and a multidisciplinary approach, the institution is enhancing treatment capabilities while shifting from fragmented care to a more coordinated, patient-centric model. Its efforts align with the urgent need to improve early access, enable precision-led treatment, and ensure comprehensive support across the patient journey.
