India, Oct 29:  Many concerned individuals across the country are campaigning and calling on others to carry the spirit of celebration beyond the nine days of Navratri.

The campaign centred on a simple question: if humans and animals are part of the same divine creation, why should compassion towards animals be limited to the nine days during which Devi Maa is worshipped?

Across cities, activists engaged with communities through awareness stalls, public conversations, Garba participation, pandals, bhandaras and other festival gatherings. The campaign sought to place the issue directly within the values people already associate with the part of their living: compassion, motherhood, protection and reverence for life.

Participating cities: Mumbai, Thane, Ahmedabad, Faridabad, Hisar, Khandwa, Prayagraj, Bhojpur and many more cities.

“During Navratri, we worship Devi Maa as the universal mother. We speak about compassion, protection and the power of motherhood. But if we truly believe that all beings are part of the same creation, that compassion cannot end after nine days,” said Aprajita Ashish, Founder and Director, Animal Climate and Health Save Foundation and Director, World Vegan Vision.

Mumbai City Activists participate in Garba with the campaign’s message.

The wider outreach comes at a time when Animal Save India has also seen significant online engagement around conversations concerning animals and food choices.

A KBC moment reel featuring Mr. Amitabh Bachchan shared by Animal Save India crossed 280 crore views on Instagram, bringing the subject to an exceptionally large digital audience.

Animal Save India sees the on-ground Navratri campaign and its digital outreach as part of the same broader effort: encouraging people to question practices they may have inherited without examining their impact on animals.

The organisation believes festivals offer an important opportunity for such reflection because they bring values such as kindness, protection and non-violence into public conversation.

Animal Climate and Health Save Foundation is encouraging people to extend that compassion beyond Navratri by learning about the impact of their choices on animals and considering a vegan lifestyle.
